The LATILL project aims to assist German as a foreign language teachers by providing an AI-based platform for accessing level-appropriate texts on specific topics. It offers tools and resources for working with authentic texts. Advanced Artificial Intelligence tools are included in the platform to help creating unique materials for the students.

The text level can only be determined in relation to the reading activity. The CEFR level classification of a reading text is to be understood as an indication of the level of competence of the learner at which the reading text can be used for detailed reading.
